Supporting non specialists deliver great PE
Supporting non specialists deliver great PE
PE can feel overwhelming, particularly if you're a non specialist in primary school.
In one term you’re expected to cover gymnastics, dance, physical literacy, games and athletics… with limited time and varying confidence across the team.
This practical workshop gives teachers a simple, inclusive framework to deliver PE that develops the whole child, physical competence, confidence, character and healthy participation.
Not using imoves PE resources, no problem, we can tailor sessions to suit your schools needs.
Confidence and resilience (trying, failing, trying again)
Physical Literacy (the foundations for all movement)
Teamwork and self-regulation (winning, losing, cooperating)
Positive attitudes to being active (now and later in life)
Teachers are increasingly being asked to deliver PE that is child-focused, inclusive, and genuinely developmental — but many haven’t been shown how to make that happen in a busy primary setting.
1) Building a PE curriculum that works in real schools. How to plan progressive learning across the year so PE feels structured — not random.
2) Teaching for every child. Simple strategies to include, stretch and support all pupils — whatever their confidence or skill level.
3) Whole-child PE in action. How PE can intentionally develop physical, social and personal outcomes (not as an add-on — built into the lesson).
4) Motor competence, rules, tactics and participation. Helping pupils improve the foundations: movement skills, understanding, decision-making and enjoyment.
