With an illustrious career within the health, fitness, and nutrition arena spanning over two decades, Imogen Buxton-Pickles brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and unwavering passion to her role as Co-Founder of imoves - an organisation dedicated to getting young people across the UK and beyond more active.
A devotee of physical movement, and a staunch advocate for the vital role it has in ensuring optimum health and wellbeing, Imogen has made it her lifelong mission to get individuals of all ages involved in exercise, and in supporting them to find and nurture their own enduring love of it along the way – whatever form that may take.
Formerly Head of Leisure and Wellbeing at international training company A4e Ltd, Imogen has an extensive and impressive list of professional credentials to her name, including Central YMCA (now the YMCA Awards) qualifications in Exercise to Music, Nutrition & Weight Management, and Freestyle Choreography, certified UK presenter status for the New York City Ballet Workout, and International Dance Teachers’ Association certifications in jazz and gymnastics (to name just a few).
Having worked alongside individuals from all generations over the past 25 years to promote the tangible benefits of exercise, Imogen now dedicates herself to supporting teachers and wider school personnel to deliver innovative and simple exercise programmes via the imoves brand - all carefully created and designed to encourage children to move more.
And, now with a young daughter of her own, Imogen is seeing first-hand as a parent just how taking part in a small amount of exercise each day can significantly impact a child’s concentration, educational attainment, and self-belief – habits and consequences that once instilled, can last a lifetime.
Through her years of experience and through the personal relationships she’s made with those across the education sector, Imogen understands completely the immense and ever-increasing pressures teachers are under to deliver their overarching objectives, let alone the added pressures involved in introducing even more to their daily workload. Which, is why, she has worked phenomenally hard alongside the wider imoves team to develop a comprehensive programme that equips teachers with everything they need to help their pupils become more active – at the literal click of a button.
Imogen is extremely proud of everything the imoves team has achieved to date, and she is wholly committed to driving forward its collective mission to spearhead truly positive and long-lasting change across schools UK-wide over the years to come.
