A former consultant within the healthcare industry with exceptional experience of overseeing successful project delivery as well as organisational restructures and brand management, Ian now channels his expertise in driving forward a ground-breaking movement whose mission it is to get young people across the country more active.
Ian is co-founder and CEO of imoves – a pioneering organisation that has become one of the UK’s leading ed-tech companies, and which creates and delivers simple but innovative digital content packages to support teachers in getting primary school children more involved in physical exercise.
With his management background spanning over 25 years, Ian leads on all commercial and operational functions for imoves – ensuring that the team continues to deliver very real and tangible results on behalf of teachers, and that it proactively seeks and secures additional opportunities to enhance its suite of tools to enable them to get more young people moving (with the maximum of ease).
Ian’s previous positions have seen him work alongside the NHS on the Connecting for Health programme, a project responsible for the delivery of a single system of electronic care records for all patients (a project everyone who receives NHS care in the UK will have benefited from!).
His time as an engagement manager for a pharmaceutical consultancy saw him lead on structural reorganisation across sales and marketing divisions, and more recently as a principal consultant, Ian worked within the pharmaceutical industry on strategic planning and brand management. Through all of these roles, Ian has identified the immense power of collaboration and the very real difference that individuals and organisations working together can make in achieving a common goal.
And, it’s this that is driving Ian’s personal mission to get every single child across the UK more active – to not only make a difference to the lives of young people and their families, but the education sector and wider society too. Ian believes that the current, and ever-growing, obesity crisis here in the UK is one that has the potential to destroy a generation and see the NHS come under even more pressure than ever before. But, he believes strongly that it’s a crisis that can easily be diverted with the right tools. And which is why he’s so proud to be leading the revolution that is imoves.
He also makes a very good cup of tea!
