Helping schools make every day more active

imoves is a family-owned education business with one simple aim: to make it easier for the adults around children to get them moving.

For more than 10 years, we’ve worked with primary schools to turn that idea into practical support teachers can actually use — across PE, classroom learning, movement breaks, dance, wellbeing and the wider school day.

Why imoves exists

Children need opportunities to move throughout the day - but making that happen often falls to busy teachers and school staff who already have plenty to do.

That’s the problem imoves was created to solve.

We design ready-to-use lessons, activities and support that reduce the work involved in getting children active. Whether it’s teaching PE, bringing movement into Maths, using a quick brain break or helping a class reset, the aim is the same: make movement practical enough to become part of everyday school life.

Built around the reality of primary schools

Lasting change only happens when movement fits the reality of everyday teaching.

Teachers don’t need more complexity or competing initiatives. They need practical support that is easy to access, simple to deliver and flexible enough to work within a busy school day.

That belief has shaped everything we’ve developed. imoves has evolved alongside schools, with lessons, activities and support refined through teacher feedback, classroom experience and independent research.

Teacher first
Designed around what works in a busy primary school.

Practical
Resources should make movement easier, not create another job.

Evidence informed
Shaped by classroom experience, teacher feedback and independent research.

Built for non-specialists
Teachers shouldn’t need to be PE specialists, dancers or sports coaches to help children move.

imoves began by helping primary teachers deliver Dance and PE with greater confidence. Over time, working with schools showed us that the opportunity was much bigger.

Children don’t only need movement during PE. Different kinds of movement can have a place throughout the school day - during curriculum learning, between lessons, at breaktimes and in moments when children need to get active, refocus or calm down.

Today, imoves supports schools across:

Quality and evidence matter

Schools need to know that the resources they use are practical, age-appropriate and built on sound educational thinking.

imoves Primary PE is an afPE Approved Curriculum Resource, and the impact of imoves has been independently evaluated by Sheffield Hallam University.

Our resources have also been shaped by more than a decade of working directly with primary schools and by the feedback of the teachers who use them every day.

Movement isn't one thing

A three-minute movement break has a different purpose from a PE lesson. Active Maths is different from free play. A calming activity is different from an energetic fitness challenge.

That’s why imoves gives teachers different kinds of movement for different moments - and helps them choose what fits the children, the learning and the school day.

Made with teachers, not just for teachers

Teachers have shaped imoves from the beginning. Their feedback influences how lessons are structured, how much preparation is required, how demonstrations work and what support is needed when a subject feels unfamiliar.

That means we continually ask a simple question: will this actually work on a Wednesday morning in a busy primary classroom?

A small team with a big ambition

imoves is a small, family-owned business based in Sheffield, supported by a team of teachers, presenters, education specialists and people who care deeply about helping children be more active.

We may be small, but our ambition isn't: we want to help create billions more minutes of movement for children by making it easier for the adults around them to make movement happen.
