Taking a break is SUPER important.

Teaching is a demanding career, and it’s not easy to shape young lives.

And even outside the classroom, there’s reports to write, lessons to plan, and work to be marked.

We know how full-on things can be, which is why when you get the chance to take a break, you should take it.

Switching off is easier said than done sometimes, but you want to return to school refreshed and rejuvenated…

And the only way you’re going to do that is by taking some time for yourself and staying WELL away from anything work-related.

There’s loads of things you can do to keep your mind active and focus on your wellbeing…

Whether that’s focusing on your hobbies, travelling, exercising, spending time with friends, resting, or even binging your favourite TV shows.

Personally, I enjoy nothing more than finding a good book and burying myself in it for a day or two – and it’s a WORLD of difference when you’re reading for pleasure.

One great tip is if you’ve got a bucket list, take a look through it and see if there’s anything you can tick off – if not, make concrete plans for getting some of it done!

And if you don’t have a bucket list… maybe it’s time to start drafting one?

But most importantly, do NOT go into school :-)

Enjoy your break – and have fun, however you choose to spend it!
